The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Yonsei University was established in March 2002 through the merger of the Department of Electrical Engineering (founded 1950), the Department of Electronics Engineering (founded 1969), and the Department of Radio Engineering (founded 1992), aimed at maximizing synergy in education and research. Building on a tradition of advancing the electrical, electronic, and radio industries, it has trained creative and responsible engineering talent, and today stands as a leading educational and research community in the field. Its graduate program has been continuously recognized as an outstanding research team under the government-funded BK21 initiative.

To respond proactively to a rapidly changing industrial landscape, the school focuses its education and research around BASIC (Bio-Health, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductor, Infra, and Communication). It actively pursues integrated undergraduate–graduate curricula, interdisciplinary convergence, and international joint research, aspiring to become a world-class academic community. Going forward, it aims to expand collaborations with leading global universities, research institutes, and industries, and considers it a core mission to cultivate engineering leaders with strong ethical character and servant leadership rooted in Yonsei's founding Christian spirit.

Graduates work in pivotal roles across industry, research institutions, and academia throughout the field of electrical and electronic engineering. Graduate-degree holders go on to become professors and researchers at national and industrial research centers, leading academic achievements and technological innovation.
